about backbone

Networked Backbone Radio

Peer-to-peer sharing, with third party syndicators creating value for all participants, is the basis for network affiliation

The Power is in the Network Affiliation

  • Member stations are linked through a dynamic network of shared content.
  • Schools can share one another's recorded content, including music, programs, reports, etc. just by dragging and dropping items between databases.
  • Schools can share one another's live program feeds, such as a hot concert or crucial playoff game.
  • Backbone and IBS are actively developing new sources of content from which stations may draw. These sources will be made available by feeds and shared database access.
    • Independent music, for example, from Trakheadz and SMtv Music
    • News and commentary
    • Commercials and sponsor content
